Less is more: Why a man needs to learn to prioritize, say no, and live simple

Less is more: Why a man needs to learn to prioritize, say no, and live simple

I have been so overwhelmed lately…

I have had to take a step back and think about what is really going on in my life. I am always getting invited to compete in an event, run a marathon, join a group, go on a trip, or meetup with someone.

Honestly, it’s exhausting.

Typically I am very focused and disciplined on what it is that I am doing, what I need to do to create a flow in my life and still leave room for spontaneity.

I realized that I am probably not alone on this one, and it seems that it' gets easier and easier to do this the more that time goes on.

How to build a CrossFit Peg Board: A Simple DIY project for your garage or home gym

Recently my friend opened his own CrossFit Affiliate Box “The Standard” in downtown Toledo, Ohio. I wanted to do something for him.

I had been to other CrossFit Affiliates in the area but had never seen one that had a climbing pegboard. These were really made popular during the CrossFit Games and gave the athletes a seemingly insurmountable obstacle.

Since then, garage’s and gyms all over the world have been producing them.

On his way back to Carthage, he was met abruptly by an attacking coalition of Spanish tribes. This is where we first see Hannibal’s genius strategy at work.

Weekly Workout For Men: Show Me Your Shoulders...The Stoics view of how we should train the body

Suppose, for example, that in talking to an athlete, I said, “Show me your shoulders,” and then he answered, “Look at my jumping weights.” Go to, you and your jumping weights! What I want to see is the effect of the jumping weights. –  Epictetus, Discourses, I, 4

This is possibly one of the greatest statements.

How many times have we said to ourselves, tomorrow I will buy my new weights, or get my new running shoes, or my new protein powder and pre-workout.

We do those things, but we still don’t have the thing that we really want:

  • Character

  • Discipline

  • Grit

  • Consistency

5 Reasons why men like to be and stay average, and why they aren't asking the right questions

5 Reasons why men like to be and stay average, and why they aren't asking the right questions

There is a war on masculinity. There is a war.

It is fought by yourself (Maybe), and the invisible enemy, that is preventing you from being the man you are made to be. Some would call this enemy the devil, some would call it a shadow oligarch, and some would call it culture.

I define this enemy as anything that is preventing your soul from being spiritually free. It is anything that is preventing you from being the man that you were made to be. The one that you know you are.

If you think about that, then the whole dynamic of warfare is changed.

It is no longer seen as something that isn’t on your doorstep. It is no longer classified as a battle between trained american soldiers in Afghanistan and members of ISIS.

The battle is right in your living room, right under your nose.

If you don’t see it like that, then I’m going to be very truthful with you right now.

You are losing.

He says, “ask for whatever you want and I will give it to you.” Solomon, knowing that he is young and inexperienced asks God to give him wisdom to govern his people.

God being pleased with this answer, grants wisdom to Solomon and also wealth, power, and prestige.
