5 Reasons why men like to be and stay average, and why they aren't asking the right questions

5 Reasons why men like to be and stay average, and why they aren't asking the right questions

There is a war on masculinity. There is a war.

It is fought by yourself (Maybe), and the invisible enemy, that is preventing you from being the man you are made to be. Some would call this enemy the devil, some would call it a shadow oligarch, and some would call it culture.

I define this enemy as anything that is preventing your soul from being spiritually free. It is anything that is preventing you from being the man that you were made to be. The one that you know you are.

If you think about that, then the whole dynamic of warfare is changed.

It is no longer seen as something that isn’t on your doorstep. It is no longer classified as a battle between trained american soldiers in Afghanistan and members of ISIS.

The battle is right in your living room, right under your nose.

If you don’t see it like that, then I’m going to be very truthful with you right now.

You are losing.

The 5 biggest regrets every man must learn to avoid

The 5 biggest regrets every man must learn to avoid

My car recently broke down on the side of the road.

I tried to call a couple people to come and get me, but it’s pretty typical that when you really need someone they aren’t available.

It’s Murphy’s law.

Instead of waiting it out, or going through my phone contacts, I popped open the trunk, grabbed my boots and my rucksack, and walked home.

It was only about 2.5 miles, but it was a great time to get a workout in, and also think about my life, as I often do. Us introverts love to think, internalize and self-reflect. It’s what we do best.

Lately, though I have had a few things on my mind.

3 things actually:

  • How to think offense all the time

  • Waking up early

  • Learning how to prioritize your goals and decisions

How to Have Less in a World that Wants More: A Guide for Men Who Want to Have More Freedom

I touched down at Narita airport on December 22nd, 2001. There was no snow, no greeting party, and no smiling faces of people I knew. It was just me, and the one bag I had.

I had just finished Intelligence Specialist “A” School back in Dam Neck Virginia at the Navy Marine Corps Intelligence Training Center (NMITC), and had been given my choice of 3 places to take orders. Sasebo Japan, Fallon Nevada, or Yokosuka Japan. I chose Yokosuka, because I wanted to be on an aircraft carrier (USS Kitty-Hawk).

The airport lost my bag. I didn’t speak Japanese at the time, but somehow the airport understood my dilemma and apologized profusely. They told me through broken English that they would bring my bag to me as soon as they found it.

Living a legacy: 5 Things Every Man Should Seek to Accomplish in his Life

Every man wants to be great.

He wants to leave a legacy, be remembered for something.

Unfortunately most of the time, that's as far as it goes, it's only a thought. Rarely do dreams become realities through thinking alone.

A man has to strive to take action on his dreams, and his goals. When he doesn’t he becomes lethargic, depressed, envious and restless. Things that lead to an early death.

Not necessarily a physical death, but a death within, a death of the spirit within him.

The light burns out.
