The 5 biggest regrets every man must learn to avoid

The 5 biggest regrets every man must learn to avoid

My car recently broke down on the side of the road.

I tried to call a couple people to come and get me, but it’s pretty typical that when you really need someone they aren’t available.

It’s Murphy’s law.

Instead of waiting it out, or going through my phone contacts, I popped open the trunk, grabbed my boots and my rucksack, and walked home.

It was only about 2.5 miles, but it was a great time to get a workout in, and also think about my life, as I often do. Us introverts love to think, internalize and self-reflect. It’s what we do best.

Become a Man Among Men: 16 movies that will help you navigate all of the trials and victories in your life

Sometimes a man's education about being a man can come from watching movies or reading books and observing masculine behavior. However, some of the behaviors are flawed and shouldn't be learned, but as you continue to observe, you can take what is useful, and discard the rest.

Typically man has a couple things that are solid in his life that we can all relate to:

  • He has a purpose

  • He has been rejected or betrayed

  • He wants revenge

  • He has a woman that he loves

  • He has his own code

How to be a better man in a world that always wants a quick fix or some form of medication

How to be a better man in a world that always wants a quick fix or some form of medication

Most people want a quick fix.

They want a fabricated version of themselves.

Not only that, but they want, processed food, microwaveable snack dinners, Keurig coffee, on demand streaming movies, fast-lane checkouts, grocery pick-up in a car.

We like things how we want them, when we want them, and in the best quality possible. We are a highly consumerist culture, and we are driven by our "We want it now, mentality." It's really kind of sad.

We no longer know the term patience, or wait, we just don't have time in our lives for it.

Warrior Virtues: The simple characteristics that separate the ordinary man from the uncommon man

Warrior Virtues: The simple characteristics that separate the ordinary man from the uncommon man

In episode 7 of the Podcast I talked about the thief and the warrior.

We all have these two opposing forces inside of us every day.  One of them is the warrior or the man we are made to be, and the other is the thief or the man that wants to keep us from being the warrior.

We should all now realize that we are in a battle and be taking action to combat the thief.

However, what kinds of virtues or character traits should we be seeking to possess, develop and hone?

I wanted to do some research on what other warrior cultures throughout history had for their virtues, and what I found was mostly the same across all of them.

Which leads me to believe that we are all looking to the same thing.

How to be the best man you can be: Be critical of yourself and increase the accountability in your life

The first step to becoming the best man that you can be is having self-awareness. You have to understand who you are, where you come from and what your inner code is.

If you don’t know who you are then you will have a hard time understanding where you are.

Focused, intentional discipline is required when it comes to spending some time each day to reflect on your behaviors, attitudes, catching points, blind spots and shortcomings.

If you don’t do this every single day, then it will be hard to become a better man.

How to think offense all the time, wake up early, and prioritize your goals and decisions

I haven’t written in a while. No excuses.

The truth is, I didn’t really have much to write about, and I don’t want to waste anyone’s time talking about useless stuff.

Lately, though I have had a few things on my mind.

3 things actually:

  • How to think offense all the time

  • Waking up early

  • Learning how to prioritize your goals and decisions

The Comparison Trap: Why a Man Does it, and Who he Should Really be Comparing Himself too.

The Comparison Trap: Why a Man Does it, and Who he Should Really be Comparing Himself too.

What's the number one thing that most guys ask each-other when they first meet?

"So, what do you do?"

This question can make a man shake in his boots, especially if he is already uncomfortable with his masculinity and how he provides for his family.

He doesn't need to be though, unless of course he is a dirt-bag, who lives and leaches off of other people.

I actually despise this question, mainly because we have come to use it as a way to compare ourselves to other men, from the answer that we get we make assumptions and judgments about social status, money, success, and manhood.
